Controlling the inputs
With the EX Series’ unique “no mainframe”
and add-on modular design, you can configure a system
that best suits your application, from a very compact
4-channel recorder / analyzer to a 192-channel system.
The next-generation data acquisition system, Sony’s
EX Series meets a wide range of data acquisition and measurement
requirements with its excellent system configurability,
expandability, distributed measurement and data processing
via network, and real-time data analysis capabilities.
• From compact stand-alone 4 channel to 192 channel
i.LINK-networked system. The EX Series is flexibly configurable
to meet your measurement requirements.
• By adopting modular design, different types of
signals can be directly connected. Input modules are:
IEPE/direct voltage input, microphone, charge sensor,
DC strain gauge, thermocouple and Pulse/FV converter.
• Distributed measurement is possible by connecting
via i.LINK. Distance between groups of modules is up to
100 meters, and optical cable makes the data transfer
very robust against electromagnetic noise.
At the heart of the EX Series data acquisition system
is the EX-UT10, a control & interface system used
to control all the input modules. This unit provides the
synchronisation between measuring group channels and also
if required provides the master clock for multiple measuring
group synchronisation. All power supplies and user controls
are also provided on the EX-UT10. The unit will except
AC or DC power supply inputs via the adaptor and two options
of battery can be used and is easily clipped to the side
of the unit. The same mounting system can also house the
carry handle and standing plate if batteries are not used.
The main unit also provides the connection to the first
module by means of a multi-way connector and four captive
mounting bolts. Finally the EX-UT10 is the means of connecting
to a PC or the EX-RM10 remote control. All communications
are via Firewire and easily connected on the front panel. |
