Sony SIR-3400H Hard Disc Digital Recording System

The new SIR-3400H Hard Disc recorder from Sony is the latest in a long line of innovations from the company that provides the latest technology recording techniques. The new recorder employers hard disc technology and uses two individual discs operating in RAID configuration to provide absolute data integrity and ensure there is no loss of data, The data is secure, the system is able to be customised and the recording units networkable. In this day of ever demanding recording requirements the SIR-3000 range provides the right solution. Also, the discs are “hot-swappable” ensuring that continued recording can take place.

The dual redundant high capacity 200GB drives insure high volume tests are accurately captured each and every time without the worry and expense of a drive or media failure.

Another great advantage of hard disc technology is the ability to randomly access the stored data. Because there is no need for “rewind” or “fast forward” the data can instantly searched for and replayed at the touch of a button. All this goes to making the recording task for the user much easier.

In terms of recording capacity the SIR-3400H wins again. Standard module sizes start at 32 channels. Additional 32 channel blocks can then be added up to a maximum of 128 channels.
The recordable bandwidth is also incredible with all 128 channels capable of being recorded at bandwidths of 20KHz. The SIR-3032i, the “standard” unit offers the 32 channels at 20Khz per channel and includes the ability to provide IEPE (ICP) conditioned inputs. These can be individually turned on and off. The SIR-3032w meanwhile delivers 32 channels at 80Khz per channel.
